About Capri Tan's Organic, Mobile Spray Tans
Airbrush Tanning, often referred to as spray tanning, is a personalized service performed by a professional airbrush technician. The result is an instant tan that looks natural. The active ingredient that creates this appearance is Dihydroxyacetone (DHA). DHA is derived from natural sugar cane which interacts with the amino acids on the outermost layer of the skin to produce a brown color.
Be sure to have an open, non-carpeted area ready for us to set up our tanning tent(s). We prefer a room with good ventilation, if available. We will also need an outlet to plug in our machine. Our tanning expert will set up a mobile tanning tent, custom apply your tan and break everything down and leave behind only your golden glow.
No! Not at all. We customize the perfect blend of solution based on each clients’ skin type, needs, and wants to perfect an even, sun-kissed, just-off-the-beach, golden brown glow.
Your tan will last anywhere from 5-10 days, on average. Proper preparation for the tan along with your after-care regimen, and the amount of physical activity are all factors of how many days one can expect their tan to last.
Our custom solutions will react naturally with each specific skin tone. Capri Tan’s tanning experts will create a custom experience for each client’s natural base color and/or your desired shade. However, if it is your first time tanning, or you have an extremely fair complexion, we suggest choosing a lighter tone to ensure satisfaction. Very fair complexed individuals may require a follow up session 12-24 hours later.
We accept all major credit and debit cards and wireless payments such as Apple Pay. We do not accept cash or checks.
Anyone under the age of 18 will need a signed form of consent from their parent or legal guardian with contact info, unless your guardian is present. Undergarments are required for anyone under 18.
The Tanning Process
On average, a custom, airbrush tanning session takes about 20-30 minutes per person.
Wear what you are most comfortable in. Some clients choose to go “au natural” while others choose to wear underwear or a bathing suit.
** Please note, we are currently only able to serve women for our mobile tanning service **
We recommend to wear dark, loose clothing; cotton is recommended. You should avoid wearing socks, a bra, jeans or any other restrictive clothing soon after your session.
For all brides-to-be, we suggest scheduling your tan 2-3 days before the big event. We recommend showering at least twice before the big day. This will ensure the bronzer used in the solution is completely rinsed off your skin to avoid any color transferring to your dress. We recommend a light, natural tan color for the big day.
We understand that life doesn’t always go as you may have planned.
We ask that you please reschedule or cancel at least 6 hours before the beginning of your appointment or you may be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the cost of your scheduled service.
For Tanning Parties we ask that you please reschedule or cancel at least 12 hours before your scheduled event or you may be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the cost of your total party.
Please use the cancel/change instructions in your confirmation email.
Precautions & Safety Recommendations
The custom solution we use contains a bronzer for temporary, immediate color. As a result, we recommend you wear loose-fitting, dark clothes after your airbrush tanning session to minimize the chance of the bronze color staining your clothes or sheets. Make sure to cover leather seats or furniture and avoid direct contact as your airbrush tan solution may stain certain leathers and silks in the first 2-3 days.
Capri Tan’s signature brown sugar solution is 99% organic. However, we advise you to consult with your physician before you get an airbrush tan.
DHA is only approved by the FDA for external application. All nursing mothers MUST cover their nipples during their tanning session. Please notify your technician if you think you may be pregnant, are pregnant or are breastfeeding.
Your airbrush tan will not protect your skin from UV rays. Even though your skin has a sun-kissed glow, don’t forget to use sunblock. We recommend an alcohol-free sunblock to help your airbrush tan last longer.
We do not recommend getting an airbrush tan if you are peeling. It may look blotchy and uneven where the skin is peeling. Wait to have a cleanly exfoliated skin before scheduling your airbrush tan.
Some medications, including anti-depressants, can affect the skin’s PH balance. This may result in an uneven and blotchy tan. In rare cases, the tan may not develop properly. We recommend checking with your doctor if you are unsure what effect your medication may have on your skin.
